Arogance, Hurricanes, and Earthquakes: An Abrupt Awakening for Today and Tomorrow
Well, some people just happen to have the types of personalities that will eventually sabotage themselves…either today or tomorrow.
For instance, one person in Cape Cod is standing in defiance of Hurricane Earl simply because she has already planned his Labor Day weekend plans. Ellen is taking the last ferry over to Nantucket and will have to face the storm largely on her own. She won’t be changing her holiday plans just because of a tiny little insignificant hurricane. What’s the problem with a picnic and massive surf and mind-blowing rain? No problems…
The arrogance of some people is astounding! People like Ellen learn the hard way. They think themselves tough and invincible until the storm takes their lives. They’ll be kicking and screaming all the way into the swirling deep…
I recall Harry Truman who refused to leave his cabin when Mount St. Helen’s erupted many years ago. He is still buried deep under the place where he stood in his final moments. He probably only now realizes that he could have left for a couple of weeks and then gone back home to rebuild on his property. Stubborn people die when they don’t respect the power of the natural world to change the landscape regardless of the attitude of the people on the surface of the planet.
Hurricane Earl has made its way past the beaches of North Carolina and is heading north toward Cape Cod. People are leaving and many are preparing for the winds and rains. Erosion of the beaches is the main concern for many.
Live and learn. Show your arrogance and find yourself subjected to the waves and the winds.
Then there are the people of New Zealand who weathered the 7.4 quake this morning. It struck near Christchurch and people watched for a tsunami. At least they were paying attention to their environment.
That’s the trick, isn’t it? You need to pay attention and act appropriately in that moment. Do so…and you’ll be able to return and live again for another day.
Keep your Survival BackPack fully packed and equipped to grab at any moment. Fill it with everything you can think of that you might need while ‘on the run’ away from home. Be sure to have an ample supply of food, water, and clothing along with emergency materials and some form of communication.
The Sundance Foods only require boiling water to prepare and eat while you find yourself fleeing from hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, earthquakes, or other natural disasters that preclude your ability to stay at home or at the office. Get your Sundance Foods immediatly… You never can plan for these events to happen at a time that’s convenient to your vacation schedule! Just ask the people in Italy and China where landslides took tons of soil and all the things on the surface of the soil down the hills. People just had to stand nearby and watch… Don’t let your own arrogance or stubbornness deter you from being prepared in time.
