Oil Above and Oil Below: Oil Remains in the Gulf and the Plankton are Paying the Price
Scientists found that the plankton in the Gulf of Mexico where they took samples have indeed been affected by the Oil Spill and the dispersants. There’s a glow when UV Light shows the presence of oil deep in the ocean where the recent measurements have been taken. The Oil is below the surface of the ocean, far below and it looks like it is entering into a deep canyon where ocean currents and fisheries might make the ramifications of this Oil Spill into a disaster of monumental proportions.
When the researchers find that the life in the deep ocean is being deprived of oxygen; this is evidence of a very difficult situation in the Gulf. It is quite possible that the entire food chain may be altered if the plankton die due to the oil in their midst. There’s no way to remove the oil from these depths. It could alter the ecosystem for years.
Scientific Research information
The shrimping season began yesterday, but most scientists feel that it is too soon to determine if the shrimp have been contaminated by the Oil or the dispersant. I will say this, “I am NOT going to eat any seafood from the Gulf of Mexico”! There are too many indicators that the chemicals and oil have already compromised the integrity of the seafood and the ocean water in the Gulf. There’s no proof one way or the other at this moment in time, but only a fool takes chances that can damage the human body. The dead fish, whales, and dolphins found in the region may have died from oxygen starvation or from the oil…it’s hard to pinpoint until further research can make that call.
I am decidedly concerned about the Blue Plague. I am going to observe the information coming from this situation for awhile before telling you what your options happen to be for your health.
If I were you, I would stock up on healthy seafood right now and then decide if you can trust future catches. Here is a company that offers wild salmon and other sustainably-harvested fish from pristine waters in the Pacific Ocean. It doesn’t get any BETTER than this:

The Oil is above the surface of the ocean, having begun evaporating into the atmosphere. The Oil is below the surface and killing marine life. You don’t need the Oil to enter your body when you can avoid that from happening with intelligent Lifestyle and dietary choices.
