When The Power Goes Out: The Wise Go Underground

Once we lost power it was time to ‘go under’ to weather the extreme weather.

We haven’t blogged in a week while waiting for electricity to be restored by crews who have laid more than seventy miles of new lines and set up more than 250 power poles in the state storm of 2012.

Our ability to phone our members of our phone tree or send emails was ‘on hold’ until now. When we realized that both resources for communication were linked to Comcast or the Grid, it was too late to send any pertinent information.

We cranked the CCrane radio and listened to KOMO4 share harrowing stories on the air. Some wise people had wood stoves, fireplaces and wood, or generators; but far too many families were struggling to stay warm and eat during this week of white snow, freezing rain, and power outages.

We ate more slowly, talked for many more hours, and generally did a lot more Remote View and other disciplines, including the shift in the weather to warm the good earth.
